The company is splitting its work into two focused areas — passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles. From now on:

• The current Tata Motors Limited (the one listed on the stock market) will be renamed Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited. It will look after passenger cars, electric vehicles (EVs) and Tata’s investment in Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).
• Tata’s commercial vehicle division, the part that makes trucks and buses will now use the familiar name, Tata Motors Limited.
