The Slovakia unit was already working closely with big global car brands like Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda. So it was not a small or unknown supplier. It had strong connections and regular business with these major players.

Because of this existing network, Tata AutoComp does not have to start from zero in Europe. With this acquisition, the company directly gets entry into an established European supply chain, with ready customers and ongoing projects already in place.

Company leaders said this move will help them become a preferred global partner for OEMs. Tata Group companies already have a strong background in many segments, including Tata Commercial Vehicles, so this expansion adds more strength to the ecosystem.

Artifex Group Becomes a Larger Player

After combining Sweden, UK and now Slovakia operations, the Artifex group’s total annual revenue is around $1.3 billion. Around 4,100 employees are working across these three countries.

Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman of Tata AutoComp, said this integration is an important step for global growth. Manoj Kolhatkar, Managing Director and CEO, also shared that European teams have good cultural alignment. According to him, this will help in faster decisions and smoother operations.

As global demand grows for vehicles, whether it is passenger cars or heavy-duty Tata trucks, a strong component supply becomes very important.

Skilled Workforce and Engineering Focus

Alan Fennelly, CEO of Artifex Interior Systems, welcomed the Slovakia team into the group. He said the Slovak plant has skilled people and good technical knowledge. This will help the company support next-generation vehicle platforms.

In fact, on the same day, a new engineering centre was opened in Gothenburg, Sweden. This centre will focus on innovation and closer support to European customers. As the industry is moving towards electric and advanced mobility, interior systems and technology play a key role, even in segments like Tata buses.

Diplomatic Support and Future Outlook

The acquisition also received a positive response from the diplomatic sides. Robert Maxian, Ambassador of Slovakia to India, said he believes the Slovak unit will grow further under Tata leadership. India’s Ambassador to Slovakia, Apoorva Srivastava, also called it a good example of a stronger industrial partnership between both countries.

Before the deal, the Slovakia unit had revenue of around $190 million and 800 employees. Founded in 1995, Tata AutoComp today operates 68 manufacturing facilities globally and employs more than 20,000 people. The group supplies components across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and electric mobility space.

With this new Europe expansion, Tata AutoComp is slowly building a stronger global position, supporting not just Indian markets but international programs linked to Tata Commercial vehicles and other automotive segments.
