Tata Motors has a strong reputation in the commercial vehicle and passenger vehicle industry. Their high-demand buses are still popular among buyers. Tata buses are known for superior mileage, an affordable price range and spacious seating capacity. Tata buses will keep being very important, for the public transport services that are run by state transport bodies.

Orders Placed by Multiple State Transport Undertakings

The orders have been placed by transport corporations in states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, North Western Karnataka, Telangana, Rajasthan, Bihar and Kerala. Apart from these states, Haryana Roadways under the Department of Road Transport and the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking have also placed orders with the company. These purchases are part of the regular fleet expansion plans followed by most state transport agencies.

Mix of Fully Built Buses and Bus Chassis in the Order

Tata Motors said the orders include both fully built buses as well as bus chassis. This allows transport corporations to use the vehicles in different types of operations. While fully built buses can be deployed directly for passenger services, chassis units are usually used when transport bodies want to build customised bus bodies based on their route requirements.

Popular Tata Bus Models Included in the Supply

The supply will include several well-known Tata bus models such as Cityride, Starbus, Starbus Prime and Magna. These buses are already widely used for city transport, staff movement and intercity travel by many state transport corporations. In addition to these buses, the company will also supply chassis variants like LPO 1618, LPO 1622 and LPO 1822.

Sampoorna Seva 2.0

As per Tata Motors' declaration, their commercial passenger vehicles are supported by the Sampoorna Seva 2.0 programme. This initiative focuses on vehicle lifecycle management and service support.

The programme provides maintenance assistance, genuine spare parts availability, breakdown support and faster service turnaround for fleet operators.

State Transport Bodies Continue Fleet Expansion

Many state transport corporations in India are currently investing in fleet modernisation. The aim is to replace ageing buses and add more vehicles to improve connectivity for passengers.

With growing travel demand across cities and towns, buses — including electric buses — continue to remain an important part of the country’s public transport system.
