Out of the total sales, 40,893 units came from the Indian market. In February last year, domestic sales were 30,797 units. That is a healthy increase. Dealers say enquiries were better compared to previous months. Many small fleet owners are slowly returning to the market.
Heavy Trucks See Strong Demand
The heavy truck segment performed well. Sales in this category stood at 13,559 units. Last year, the figure was 9,892 units. Road projects and long-distance cargo movement helped increase demand for Tata trucks. Fleet operators are buying carefully, but they are buying.
Light and Medium Vehicles Also Improve
In the light and medium category, the company sold 7,577 units. Last year, it was 5,652 units. These vehicles are mainly used for city supply and regional transport. Demand looked steady during the month.
Passenger Segment Moves Up
Passenger carrier sales reached 5,548 units. In the same month last year, it was 4,355 units. School routes and staff transportation helped push numbers. Tata buses continue to hold their space in this segment.
Small Vehicles and Pickups Remain Steady
The small cargo and pickup segment recorded 14,209 units. Last year, it was 10,898 units. Local delivery work and small business transport supported growth. Tata pickups are still a common choice in rural and semi-urban markets.
Export Numbers
Exports stood at 2,047 units, slightly higher than last year’s 1,736 units. The increase is not huge, but it shows stable demand outside India.
Overall View
February was a positive month for Tata Motors in the commercial vehicle space. Most segments reported better numbers than last year. The company seems to be moving in the right direction as market activity improves.
