Patent Leak Reveals E-Rickshaw with AC and Sunroof; Features Will Leave You Shocked

Omega Seiki Mobility files patent for AC and sunroof e-rickshaw, offering closed cabin, premium features, better comfort and improved city travel experience for passengers.

Traveling in a normal auto during Indian summer is not easy. Heat, dust and rain make daily ride very uncomfortable for many people. But now, things may change soon. A patent filing by Omega Seiki Mobility shows that the company is working on a very different kind of electric 3 wheelers.

The company has applied patent for a new model called Omega Seiki Muse, which was earlier shown at the 2023 Auto Expo. After the patent news came out, people started talking that this could be the country’s first AC and sunroof equipped e-rickshaw. If launched, it can change how we see passenger autos in India.

Omega Seiki Mobility 3 wheelers are already known in commercial market, but this new model looks more premium and modern than usual electric 3 wheelers.

The biggest highlight of this e-rickshaw is factory-fitted AC. Normally e-rickshaws are open from sides and passengers suffer from hot air and pollution. But this model comes with full body doors and closed cabin, which gives more protection and privacy. It almost feels like a small car from inside.

There is also a fixed glass sunroof on top. This feature is mostly seen in cars, not in passenger autos. The sunroof will keep the cabin bright and airy during winter and rainy season. It may also improve overall ride experience for daily commuters.

Rear passengers also get separate AC vents on roof, which is something very rare in this segment.

Stylish Design with Premium Touch

Design of this model looks quite attractive. It has a big raked windshield at front and round LED headlamps which gives it modern look. One more interesting feature is the large roof-mounted rear-view mirror, similar to what we see in luxury buses. This helps driver to see traffic clearly, especially because doors are closed and he cannot lean out like normal autos.

Inside, the cabin looks simple but premium. Driver seat comes with quilted padding and rear bench can seat three passengers comfortably. The earlier displayed model also had touchscreen infotainment system and wireless charger, which makes it more tech-loaded than regular electric 3 wheelers.

Battery, Range and What’s Next

As per earlier details, the vehicle uses an 8 kWh NMC battery pack. It is claimed to deliver up to 150 km range on single charge, while real-world range may be around 100 km. Charging time is about 4 hours and top speed is 50 kmph, which is suitable for city roads.

Now big question is price. If Omega Seiki Mobility launches it at affordable cost and supports it with strong dealership network, this electric 3 wheelers model can create big impact in Indian market.

For now, industry is waiting. If this patent turns into reality, passenger autos in India may never look same again.
