In Haryana’s Wadi district, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) took a big action on Tuesday night. A special team was checking vehicles on the Delhi–Jaipur National Highway-48. During this check, the team stopped 9 private buses that were running without a proper permit. The RTA issued a total challan of ₹1,46,000 on these buses. The checking was done suddenly so that illegal vehicles could not escape.
Tourist Buses Were Used Like Regular Passenger Service
Officials said these private buses were registered only as tourist vehicles. But in reality, they were running like regular passenger buses between Delhi and Jaipur every day. Because of this, the rules were being broken and the government was also losing a lot of tax. Many passengers travel in such buses without knowing that these vehicles do not follow safety rules. Illegal buses create trouble for legal School buses, long-route buses, and even for company BharatBenz staff buses and Eicher buses that follow all rules.
RTA Says Illegal Buses Are a Safety Risk for Passengers
The RTA officers said clearly that running buses without a permit is risky for people. Such buses do not follow proper checks, and many times the condition of these buses is also weak. Drivers are also not checked properly. Because of this, the chance of an accident becomes higher. The RTA team said they will continue these surprise checks in the coming days. If any bus is caught again running without a permit, the RTA will recommend cancellation of that vehicle’s permit to the state.
Illegal Cars Also Carry Passengers on This Route
The Delhi–Jaipur highway is facing this problem for a long time. Many private operators run illegal buses and cars on this route. These vehicles take passengers at cheap rates and disturb the whole transport system. It becomes difficult for genuine operators, including school bus operators and company buses, to work properly. Even legal electric buses and long-route buses face problems because illegal vehicles take passengers from bus stops and highways without any control.
Need to Support Legal Buses and Electric Buses
Officials said that the government is trying to improve safe public transport. Many states are adding electric buses in their fleet so that pollution stays low and passengers get better travel options. When illegal private buses run without any rule, the system does not work smoothly. The RTA wants people to support legal buses, whether they are normal city buses, long-route buses, School buses, BharatBenz staff buses, or Eicher buses. Legal buses follow safety checks and give safer travel to people.
RTA Appeals to Passengers: Travel Only in Permitted Buses
The RTA has asked people to travel only in buses that have a proper permit. This step will help in stopping revenue loss and will also improve safety on the highway. Officials said that their campaign will continue so that illegal buses are removed from the Delhi–Jaipur route. The RTA believes that when people choose legal buses and electric buses, illegal operators will not be able to survive. They also said that safe travel will become better only when passengers support the rules.
