NHAI rolls out QR codes on highways for safer, smarter travel and easy access to nearby facilities.

The NHAI has decided to make highways more transparent and safer by installing QR code signboards across highways. Drivers can easily find out emergency numbers, petrol pumps, police stations, restaurants, service centers and EV charging points.

For safety purposes, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to add QR code signboards along major highways. A simple scan will give commuters instant access to project updates and critical emergency contacts.

Key Information at One Place

The QR system will provide highway numbers, project length, chainage, construction and maintenance details. It will also display contacts of the Highway Patrol, Toll Managers, Project Engineers, NHAI field offices, and the all-India helpline 1033 for emergencies.
