LeafyBus Launches Free Sanitary Kits for Women on Sleeper Bus Routes

By Amit Jangra | Published Date : March 08, 2026

LeafyBus started the #CareOnboard campaign, offering free sanitary kits to women passengers on sleeper bus routes to improve comfort and hygiene during long intercity journeys.

Long distance travel by bus is very common in India. Many people prefer sleeper buses when they travel from one city to another. It is affordable and also convenient for overnight journeys. But for women passengers, sometimes small things can make the journey uncomfortable.

Keeping this in mind, LeafyBus, an intercity sleeper bus operator, has started a campaign called #CareOnboard. Through this campaign, the company has started giving complimentary sanitary kits to women passengers travelling on its sleeper routes.

The step was introduced around International Women’s Day. The company says the main aim is to make women travellers feel a little more comfortable during long trips.

Under this initiative, hygiene kits are available inside buses running on different intercity routes. Women passengers can access these kits during the journey if they need them.

The kit includes a few basic items. Inside it there are sanitary pads, tissue paper, hand sanitiser and face wipes. These are simple products but during long travel they can become very useful.

LeafyBus said the kits are small in size so passengers can keep them easily in their bag. The company also mentioned that the kits are placed in a way that women passengers can take them without any hesitation.

Why the Company Started This Campaign

According to the company, the idea came after feedback from passengers. In recent years, more women are travelling alone between cities. Some travel for work, some for studies and many for personal reasons.

Many passengers choose buses for intercity travel mainly because they are affordable. With the number of women travellers increasing, the company decided to introduce a small facility to help during long trips..

The campaign is mainly focused on hygiene needs that may appear suddenly during overnight travel.

Part of a Larger Effort

LeafyBus says this campaign is just one step towards improving passenger experience. The company already focuses on comfortable sleeper buses, reliable service and better onboard facilities.

The company did not share how much the programme costs or how many buses are currently part of it. But it confirmed that from this week, the kits are available across its sleeper route services.

Changes Happening in Bus Transport

Bus travel in India is slowly changing. Many operators are trying to improve passenger comfort with new ideas and services.

Along with regular buses, several cities are bringing electric buses on the roads. They are seen as a greener option and help make travel cleaner for people.

A Small Idea That Can Help

It may look like a small step, but providing sanitary kits can really support women passengers. Basic hygiene items during travel can make them feel more relaxed.

With the #CareOnboard campaign, LeafyBus is trying to make bus journeys a little more thoughtful for women passengers. Small improvements like this can slowly change the overall travel experience.
