India’s electric commercial vehicle sales remained steady in February 2026 at 2,051 units, with strong yearly growth driven by electric trucks, buses and mini trucks.
India’s electric commercial vehicle market stayed almost steady in February 2026. According to Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), total sales reached 2,051 units, slightly lower than 2,060 units in January. Month-to-month changes are normal in this segment because fleet orders vary.
Yearly growth is strong. In February 2025, only 800 vehicles were sold, showing a rise of 156%, as more electric trucks, electric buses and electric mini trucks enter Indian cities.

Tata Motors sold 638 units, slightly lower than January’s 700, but still leads the market. Its vehicles are widely used in electric buses and last-mile delivery, keeping the company at the top.
Switch Mobility and Euler Motors Grow
Switch Mobility sold 358 units, showing strong growth in electric buses. Euler Motors sold 293 units, mostly cargo vehicles for city deliveries, with rapid yearly growth.
Mid-Size Players Slowly Expanding
Mahindra Group sold 228 units, mainly for last-mile delivery. Other firms like JBM Auto and PMI Electro Mobility Solutions also increased sales slightly. Many focus on small electric trucks and buses, slowly gaining market share.
Some Companies See Lower Sales
Not all companies had growth. Olectra Greentech reported lower sales in February. Such changes are common as fleet orders come in batches and market is still new.
Market Still Small but Promising
Even with strong growth, electric commercial vehicles make up a small part of India’s total market of 80,000–90,000 units monthly. Currently, only around 2,000 are electric.
Government programs, rising fuel costs and more delivery services are driving adoption. Experts say charging infrastructure and lower costs will be key for faster growth in electric trucks, buses and mini trucks.
