BharatBenz opens new service center in Silchar, Assam to improve support for trucks, offering faster repair, roadside help and better uptime for operators.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles has started a new BharatBenz service center in Silchar, Assam. This move is mainly to give better support to transport operators who run vehicles in Northeast regions. The workshop was opened on 20 April 2026 with PPS Trucking as partner.

For many operators using BharatBenz trucks, service access in this region was earlier a bit difficult, so this step brings some relief.

The new facility is located on Silchar Bypass at Ram Nagar. It is built over a large area of about 30,000 square feet. Inside, there are 8 service bays for repair and maintenance work.

Around 32 trained staff are working there. The center is capable of servicing nearly 3,000 vehicles in a year, which helps local transport business in a big way.

Modern diagnostic systems are installed so problems in trucks can be found faster. Genuine spare parts are also available at the same place, which avoids long waiting time.

Roadside Help Available All Day

One important feature of this center is 24x7 roadside assistance. Mobile service vans are also part of this setup.

This is helpful because many BharatBenz trucks travel on long routes between Assam, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura. Sometimes breakdown happens far from workshop, so this support becomes useful.

Drivers can now get help anytime, which reduces stress and improves vehicle running time on road.

Location Chosen for Regional Transport Needs

Silchar is a key point for transport in Northeast India. From here, many routes connect different states and industrial areas.

Road projects like Asom Mala 3.0 and mining activity in nearby districts are increasing movement of goods. Because of this, demand for trucks is also growing in this region.

So this workshop will help in smoother operation of commercial vehicles used in these sectors.

Focus on Better Service and Faster Turnaround

Company officials said the main idea is to reduce downtime for fleet operators. Rajiv Chaturvedi from Daimler India mentioned that proper service support is very important for difficult road conditions in Northeast.

PPS Trucking also said that location of this center will help in faster repair and better uptime for customers using BharatBenz trucks.

Final View

Overall, this new service center in Silchar is a useful step for improving after-sales network. It will help transport operators with quicker service, less waiting time and better support for daily operations in Northeast India.
