Bajaj Auto Unveils New Riki e-Rickshaw and e-Cart

By Amit Jangra | Published Date : November 27, 2025

Bajaj Riki offers smoother rides with better suspension and anti-roll support, making the rickshaw more steady and less shaky on rough city roads.

Bajaj Auto, which is already a big name in India’s 3 wheelers market, has now entered a new segment with its Riki lineup. The company has introduced two fresh electric models — the Riki P40 05 e-Rickshaw for passengers and the Riki C40 05 e-Cart for cargo needs. With this, Bajaj is targeting both passenger autos and loading autos customers who want dependable electric 3 wheelers for daily income.

For a long time, the e-rickshaw market has been full of unorganised products where customers face problems like weak batteries, slow charging, poor ride quality and low vehicle life. Bajaj says it spent a lot of time studying these issues before making the Riki series.

Drivers often complain that their earnings drop because their vehicles run out of charge fast or take too long to charge. Bajaj is trying to fix that with the new Riki models by giving them a higher driving range and faster charging. As per the company, the Riki can deliver around 40% more range than many other electric rickshaws in the market. The charging time is also kept under 4 hours, which means less downtime and more trips in a day.

Now the ride feels better because Bajaj added a new type of suspension. It controls the bumps on bad roads, so the vehicle doesn’t move too much. They also added an anti-roll thing that helps it stay steady on turns. Bajaj also added more cabin space so women passengers can sit comfortably without hitting their knees or crossing legs tightly — a common issue in many passenger autos.

Riki P40 05: Passenger Model With Long Range

The passenger model comes with a strong steel chassis, a 5.4 kWh battery and a motor built for city routes. Bajaj claims this variant can go up to 149 km on one charge. It uses a 1.5 kW charger that fills the battery in about 3 hours 45 minutes. There are useful features like a digital display, USB port, better brakes and even roof space for luggage. The price starts at Rs 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Riki C40 05: Cargo Model With Bigger Tray

For loading autos users, Bajaj has launched the C40 05 which gets a larger cargo tray and an impressive 164 km range, almost double what many rivals offer. It can be fully charged in under 4 hours and supports heavy loads like LPG cylinders and crates. With stronger suspension, hydraulic brakes and high gradeability, this model is made to climb slopes and flyovers easily. The e-cart is priced at Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
