Tata Motors Starts Delivery of 148 Electric Buses to BMTC

Tata Motors has begun delivering 148 electric buses to BMTC in Bengaluru to expand the city's eco-friendly public transport system.


Tata Motors has manufactured 148 new electric buses and has delivered these buses to BMTC (Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation). The latest electric Tata buses are desiged to reduce air pollution caused by vehicles. It is big step towards green environment. This is not BMTC’s first electric fleet. There are already 900 Tata electric buses in Bengaluru city. BMTC is planning to create long-term connectivity in the city. These Tata Starbus electric vehicles are made with daily commuters in mind. They have a low-floor design, space for 35 passengers, and built-in safety features like Electronic Stability Control and EBD. Since they run on electric power, there’s no smoke or noise, a big win for city air quality.

BMTC’s managing director said the earlier electric buses have done well and passengers are satisfied with the service. Tata Motors’ Anand S. added that their EV fleet has already clocked over six crore kilometers. He said Tata Motors will continue supporting clean and smart transport solutions for cities like Bengaluru.
