Tata Motors Expands EV Infrastructure: 25,000 Chargers for Electric SCVs Deployed

By Amit Jangra | Published Date : September 17, 2025

Tata Motors installs 25,000 public EV chargers across 150+ Indian cities, boosting support for its electric mini trucks and small commercial vehicles.

Tata Motors, the country’s largest maker of commercial vehicles, has hit a new milestone in its electric journey. More than 25,000 public EV chargers are now accessible to owners of Tata’s electric small commercial vehicles (SCVs), like the Tata Ace EV series.

These chargers are not limited to big metro cities. They’re available in over 150 locations across India, including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. Many of them are installed near logistics hubs and delivery points—right where businesses need them most.

To keep up with growing demand for electric trucks and Tata mini trucks used in delivery, Tata Motors has also signed agreements with 13 well-known Charging Point Operators (CPOs). The aim is to add another 25,000 public charging stations in the next year.

Companies such as Charge Zone, Kazam, Zeon Electric and Thunderplus are part of this big collaboration. The goal is simple: make it easier for small businesses and transporters to switch to electric without worrying about charging problems.

What Tata Motors Says

Pinaki Haldar, who heads the small commercial vehicle division at Tata Motors, shared some insight:

“Reaching 25,000 public chargers is a big step toward reliable electric cargo mobility. We’ve already deployed more than 10,000 Ace EVs, which together have driven over 6 crore kilometers. It’s proof that electric trucks can work hard—and work well.”

He also mentioned that the company’s new Ace Pro EV is drawing attention for its performance and features, especially in urban and semi-urban delivery work.
“We’re not just building electric mini trucks—we’re building the support system they need. This partnership with charging operators proves that,” he added.

A Complete Ecosystem for Electric Commercial Vehicles

Right now, Tata Motors offers three main electric SCVs:

♦ Tata Ace EV
♦ Tata Ace Pro EV
♦ Tata Ace EV 1000

These electric mini trucks are designed for a range of business uses—from daily e-commerce deliveries to heavier cargo needs. Different payload options and deck types help business owners pick what suits their work best.

All Tata trucks in the EV range are tested on real roads, in tough weather and conditions, to make sure they hold up. For after-sales service, Tata has set up over 200 EV support centres around the country.

Why It Matters

Electric trucks and mini trucks are no longer a niche product. With fuel prices always rising and cities pushing for cleaner transport, more business owners are looking at electric options.

Tata Motors seems to be making that decision easier—by offering not just vehicles, but also the tools and support to keep them running.
