Swayamgati is made by mixing OSM’s electric platform with an AI-based autonomy kit. It uses LiDAR, GPS navigation, multi-sensor fusion and remote safety monitoring. It also detects obstacles up to 6 meters, which helps it move safely even in busy or closed environments.
This vehicle is not for random city roads yet, but perfect for places where routes are fixed — like airports, gated societies, tech parks, smart campuses and industrial parks. For such areas, autonomous passenger autos can reduce driving errors and improve safety.
Performance & Battery: Simple But Effective
The Swayamgati gets a 10.3 kWh battery that gives around 120 km range in one charge. Being a full-electric 3 wheeler, it doesn’t make any tailpipe smoke and reduces running cost a lot.
Right now, OSM has not told much about the charging setup for this model, so more details might come later. Still, for short-distance and controlled areas, the range seems enough.
Testing and Real-World Readiness
In Phase 1 testing, Swayamgati completed a 3 km autonomous run with seven stops. It handled passengers, detected obstacles and moved safely without human driving.
Phase 2 will take this into controlled commercial usage at selected locations across India. This means users will soon see these autonomous electric 3 wheelers actually working around them.
Production Plans and Future Vision
OSM plans to make around 1,500 units of Swayamgati in the next two years. The company already has strong plants in Faridabad and Chakan (Pune) and a network of 200+ dealerships, so scaling up won’t be a big issue.
Both OSM founders and strategy heads believe autonomy is no longer future talk — it’s something India now needs for safe and smart mobility. With global autonomous EV markets growing sharply, Swayamgati gives India a chance to take an early lead.
A New Chapter for Electric 3 Wheelers
Overall, Swayamgati is not just a new product — it’s a new chapter for India’s transport. With AI, clean energy and practical design coming together, this autonomous electric 3 wheeler can change how people move in campuses, airports and closed-city routes. It feels like the starting point of a smarter, more efficient mobility era.
