Maruti Suzuki Organises Road Safety and Health Camp for 4,000 Truck Drivers

By Amit Jangra | Published Date : March 27, 2026

Maruti Suzuki organised a five-day safety and health program for 4,000 truck drivers to improve driving habits, awareness and overall well-being on roads.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has started one program called ‘Jagriti’ for truck drivers. This is a 5-day program and it is running from March 23 to March 28.

Program is happening at two places same time, Manesar in Haryana and Hansalpur in Gujarat. Around 4,000 drivers are expected to come here. These drivers are mostly the ones who drive trucks for carrying vehicles and spare parts.

In this program, company is telling drivers about road safety. Like how to drive properly, not to overspeed and avoid risky driving.

Also they are told not to drive after drinking, which still happens sometimes. Seatbelt use is also explained again, because many drivers don’t take it serious in trucks.

Some sessions are also about checking vehicle before driving. Small checks can save from big problem on road.

Fatigue is Also Discussed Here

One more thing they are focusing is tiredness. Drivers who drive trucks for long time can feel sleepy or slow.

Company people are explaining that proper rest is needed. Without rest, chances of accident increase. This is simple thing but often ignored.

Health Check-ups and Small Support

Along with safety, health side is also included. Free check-ups are happening and eye testing also there.

Doctors are available, so drivers can talk about their problems. Some yoga and meditation sessions are also added.

Not all drivers do these things usually, but here they are trying to show it can help in long run.

Why Company is Doing This

In India, road accidents are still high. Many times trucks are also involved in these cases.

Reasons are mostly same — speed, tired driving, bad vehicle condition. So company is trying to reduce these things little bit.

Driving trucks is not easy job, long hours and different roads, so training again and again is needed.

Not Just Business, Also Responsibility

One thing is interesting here, these drivers are not direct employees of company. Still they are called and trained.

This shows company is thinking beyond just selling vehicles. They are trying to support people who are part of their system.

Program will finish on March 28. For drivers it may feel like normal event, but small learning like this can help them later on road.
