Mahindra Revamps Auto Division Sales Setup to Boost Execution and Planning
By Jony Shekhawat | Published Date : April 10, 2026
Mahindra reorganises its automotive sales and marketing structure by splitting leadership roles, aiming to improve execution on ground and strengthen planning efficiency across operations.
Mahindra & Mahindra has gone for a reshuffle in its automotive division. Mahindra is going to add some changes in the handling of sales and marketing roles. Aman Malik has been appointed to the role of National Sales Head and Dinesh Kurup for sales planning and support.
This happened after Baneswar Banerjee moved to the group’s financial services side. Instead of replacing him with one person, the company decided to split the role. It’s a slightly different move, but seems more focused.

Earlier everything was under one person, which probably made things a bit heavy. Now the company has separated field execution from backend planning. Aman Malik will handle sales across the country, basically everything happening on the ground. Dinesh Kurup, meanwhile, will take care of planning, logistics, and finance related to sales channels.
It may help in areas like Mahindra Commercial Vehicles, where both execution and planning need to stay in sync, otherwise things slow down.
Aman Malik’s Experience
Malik has been with Mahindra for over two decades, around 25 years actually. Most of his journey has been in the farm division, working in different regions. In his last role, he was a Zonal Head and delivered strong numbers. Not perfect every time maybe, but overall performance was solid. Now his job will be more demanding — improving execution, supporting dealers, and pushing volumes. His experience could support products like Mahindra trucks, especially where competition is already quite tight.
Kurup to Handle Planning Side of Things
Dinesh Kurup has been given the planning and support responsibilities. This includes sales planning, logistics, and channel finance — all grouped together now. It sounds simple, but this part usually decides how smooth operations will be. If planning is off, things get delayed. So this role actually matters more than it looks.
For example, in segments like Mahindra buses, timing and coordination can’t really go wrong too often.
Teams Now More Connected Than Before
Both Malik and Kurup will report to Pavan Kumar, who is already handling sales, customer care and customer experience. So everything is now more connected at the top level.
There are also some small changes in the EV side of the business. Reporting lines have been adjusted so that the EV team stays closer to the main sales structure, but still works independently.
Customer feedback has also been linked more directly with field teams. This might help improve products like the Mahindra Bolero pickups, because feedback from users can reach faster now.
Company Trying to Stay Quick in Changing Market
The market is not the same anymore. Competition is higher, and customer expectations keep shifting. Companies have to keep adjusting, they fall behind. This step by Mahindra looks like an attempt to stay flexible and improve coordination. Splitting roles, defining work clearly — it may help, or may take time to show results. Right now, it looks like a practical move, at least on paper.
