Best Electric Pickup: Either Tata or Eicher For Logistics Business

By Jony Shekhawat | Published Date : May 21, 2026

Tata and Eicher electric pickups are becoming popular among logistics operators because of their low running cost, modern features, and growing demand in city delivery business.

India’s commercial vehicle market is changing very fast now. Because diesel prices are increasing and running costs are becoming higher, many transport operators are now moving towards electric trucks and electric pickups. Fleet owners are also looking for vehicles that can give better profit with lower daily expenses.

In the 3.5 ton segment, two electric pickups are getting a lot of attention — Tata Intra EV and Eicher Pro X EV. Both vehicles are made for city cargo work, logistics, e-commerce delivery and daily transport operations. But many buyers are confused about which one is better for business use.

Cargo space is really important for delivery companies that use trucks and mini trucks every day. The Eicher Pro X EV and the Tata Intra EV are two pickups that can carry around 1.75 tons of stuff.

The Eicher Pro X EV has a cargo area, which makes it easier to load big things. This is better, than the Tata Intra EV when you have to move bulky goods. Because of this, Eicher can carry bigger goods and more volume cargo easily. Its longer wheelbase also gives better stability on highways and while taking turns.

Another advantage with Eicher is higher ground clearance. Bad roads and speed breakers can be handled more comfortably. On the other hand, the Tata Intra pickup feels more compact for city driving. In crowded areas and narrow roads, it becomes easier to move and park.

Power And Driving Performance

Both electric pickups use permanent magnet synchronous motors and both have a top speed of 80 kmph. But performance numbers are little different. Eicher Pro X EV comes with slightly stronger performance numbers. It gives a power output of 80 kW and 300 Nm torque of peak torque. Tata Intra EV gives 72 kW power with 230 Nm of high-end torque.

Because of the extra torque, Eicher feels more confident while carrying heavy loads or moving on flyovers and uphill roads. It also gets better gradeability, which helps on slope roads and hilly areas. Still, the Tata Intra EV performs well for normal city delivery work. For daily transport inside urban areas, its performance is enough for many businesses.

Battery, Range And Charging

The Tata Intra EV has a 28.2 kWh battery pack. The Tata Intra EV gives a mileage range of 211 km on a charge but in real life, it usually goes around 125 to 140 km. The Tata Intra EV charges a bit faster.

The Eicher Pro X EV offers battery options, such as 32 kWh and 40 kWh. This depends on how load you carry and how you drive. The Eicher Pro X EV does in real life. It can run up to around 249 km on a charge, but it gives nearly 170 km while running on road.

Features And Safety Technology

Modern electric trucks now come with many smart features. Both vehicles offer AC cabin, digital display, power steering and USB charging support. But Eicher Pro X EV gets more advanced safety features. It offers driver monitoring system, forward collision warning, hill-hold assist and anti-roll support.

Eicher also provides My Eicher telematics for vehicle tracking and fleet management. Tata Intra EV comes with Fleet Edge technology which also helps owners monitor vehicle condition and location.

Which Electric Pickup Is Better For Your Business?

If your budget is limited and your work is mostly inside city areas, Tata Intra EV looks like a practical and value-for-money option. It also charges quickly and Tata’s network is strong across India.

But if your business needs longer routes, heavy cargo movement, better safety and stronger real-world range, then Eicher Pro X EV looks more premium and future-ready.
Both electric pickups are good in their own way. Final choice mainly depends on your daily business needs, cargo type and budget.
