Mahindra led India’s LCV goods carrier market in Q4 FY26, while Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland maintained strong sales across multiple regions.

The Indian light commercial vehicle market stayed active during the last quarter of FY26 as many transport companies, small businesses and delivery operators continued buying cargo vehicles for daily work. Latest sales figures shared by SIAM showed that Mahindra & Mahindra remained the highest-selling company in the LCV goods carrier category between January and March 2026. Tata Motors secured the second position while Ashok Leyland continued holding strong presence mainly in the southern market.

People connected with transport businesses say rising cargo movement, local delivery demand and infrastructure work are helping mini trucks and small cargo carriers maintain stable sales across different parts of India.

Mahindra sold the highest number of LCV goods carriers during the quarter. The company recorded total sales of more than 78,000 vehicles across India. The western region remained the company’s biggest market where over 30,000 units were sold during the three months.

Industry people say Mahindra mini trucks are widely used for city delivery, agriculture transport and small cargo movement because operating costs are manageable for many business owners. The company also received healthy demand from southern and northern states during the quarter. Reports connected with the automobile sector showed that the West Zone contributed the highest share in Mahindra’s overall LCV business during Q4 FY26.

Tata Motors Holds Strong Second Position

Tata Motors remained the second-largest player in the LCV goods carrier segment with sales of more than 48,000 units during the quarter. The company recorded balanced sales performance across north, west and south regions.

Many transport operators still prefer Tata trucks for cargo delivery and commercial movement because service support is available in many locations. Industry experts say Tata Motors continues maintaining stable demand in both urban and rural transport sectors. The company’s light-duty vehicle lineup remained active in regional transport work, warehouse supply movement and small business logistics operations.

Ashok Leyland and Other Brands Stay Active

Ashok Leyland secured the third position in the LCV market during Q4 FY26. Most of its sales came from the southern region where the company maintained a very strong market share. People connected with the transport industry say Ashok Leyland mini trucks are commonly used in local goods transport, construction material supply and business deliveries in southern states.

Apart from the top three companies, Maruti Suzuki, VECV-Eicher, Isuzu Motors and SML Mahindra also remained active in the market. Maruti Suzuki mini trucks received strong demand especially from western states where small business transport activity stayed busy. Eicher also continued selling cargo vehicles steadily in western and southern regions during the quarter.

West Zone Dominates LCV Sales

According to SIAM sales numbers, the west zone remained the strongest market for LCV goods carriers during Q4 FY26. Many experts connected with logistics businesses believe manufacturing activity, warehouse operations and growing delivery demand supported vehicle sales heavily in western India.

The Indian LCV segment continues seeing stable demand because small cargo transport businesses are increasing slowly across cities and smaller towns. Mini trucks are now becoming important for e-commerce work, local freight movement and daily commercial supply operations in many regions.
