Haryana CM Launches 80 Electric Buses In New Panipat Depot

Electric and conventional buses are becoming more advanced with better passenger comfort, improved efficiency, and modern technology, making them an important part of public and commercial transportation systems.


Panipat on Thursday became the centre of Haryana's latest push towards electric public transport. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited the city to inaugurate a new electric bus depot and flag off 80 electric buses that will now be used in different parts of the state.

The city of Panipat has got a lot of these buses. Forty buses will run in Panipat. This is, out of the number of buses they have. Yamunanagar has 15 buses to use. Sonipat and Kurukshetra have each got ten buses. The other five buses will go to Panchkula.

The Chief Minister talked about this during the programme. He said that Haryana is slowly making its electric transport network bigger. They are also getting the infrastructure ready that electric transport network needs. The new depot that opened in Panipat is a part of this. Electric transport network is what they are focusing on. The people in charge said they spent Rs 7 crore on the electric bus depot. They made this place to help the electric buses run. It will be useful for the daily work of the electric buses. The electric bus depot is very important for the buses.

Saini also shared that work on electric bus depots is already underway in eight other districts of Haryana. These facilities will include charging arrangements required for the growing electric bus fleet. The state government is focusing on expanding both buses and infrastructure together so that services can be operated smoothly in the coming years.

Speaking at the event the Chief Minister said that Haryana is working towards more modern transport. The state is bringing in buses as part of this effort. These electric buses are already being used in cities across India. Now Haryana is adding more of these buses to its transport.
