Tata Motors Limited and ThunderPlus Solutions Pvt. Ltd. have announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding the electric vehicle ecosystem in India. The focus is on tier-2, tier-3 cities and rural areas, where access to reliable charging infrastructure has been limited.
250+ Charging Hubs to be Upgraded
As part of this collaboration, more than 250 ThunderPlus charging hubs across India will be upgraded. These hubs will feature 3.3 kW AC charge points to support the Tata Ace EV Pro mini truck, which is gaining popularity among driver-cum-owners in non-metro regions. In addition, 30 kW GB/T chargers will be installed to support Tata’s wider EV portfolio, including the Ace 1000 EV, Ace Pro, and Express-T electric trucks.
Easy Access Through Fleet Edge App
Customers will be able to find and navigate to ThunderPlus chargers using Tata Motors’ Fleet Edge app. The app provides real-time availability and route guidance, making charging convenient for owners of trucks, pickups, buses, and mini trucks.
Affordable Chargers for Homes and Communities
ThunderPlus has also launched a compact AC charger priced at just ₹9,999. It supports two-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and four-wheelers, and can be installed at homes, warehouses, dairy parlors, or small community spaces. These installations will help create micro-charging hubs, further promoting the use of electric trucks, pickups, and buses in local transport.
“Charger Lagao Paisa Kamao” Campaign
“This partnership is a perfect fit for our plan to strengthen our presence in smaller cities and expand India’s EV ecosystem,” said Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Through its unique campaign, “Charger Lagao Paisa Kamao,” ThunderPlus allows charger owners to earn passive income. Individuals can list their chargers on the ThunderPlus app, making them accessible to the public and creating an extra source of revenue.
Strengthening EV Confidence in Bharat
This tie-up between Tata Motors and ThunderPlus is designed to give small businesses and transporters a stronger support system. It will help them run logistics that are both cost-effective and eco-friendly. By taking charging facilities into smaller towns and rural markets, the two companies are expanding India’s EV network far beyond metro cities. The move will directly support trucks, mini trucks, pickups, and electric buses, making clean transport more practical for everyday use.
