The launch happened in the presence of Dr. Soumya Ranjan Samal from Kalinga Commercial Corporation and Mr. J. Rudrasekar from Rajiraj Minerals. With this step, the brand is moving deeper into the electric Propel truck segment, mainly for mining and construction work.

The four new models shown were 90CED, 70CED, 560HEV-X and 470MEV Gen-2. These Propel truck models are built for heavy work and tough site conditions.

Built For Mining And Construction

V. Senthilkumar, Managing Director of Propel Industries, said the machines are made to handle heavy mining and construction operations. He said these launches will help increase the use of electric trucks in India, where diesel trucks are still common.

The company feels electric tipper trucks can slowly replace traditional trucks in mines and large projects.

Details Of The Tipper Trucks

The 90CED is a 90-ton electric dumper with fast charging support. It offers around 34 CBM capacity and comes with battery options between 310 kW and 650 kW. It also has safety features like basic ADAS, electronic braking, and driver fatigue alerts, following DGMS rules.

The 70CED comes in an 8x4 layout with 25 CBM rock body capacity. The 560HEV-X also uses an 8x4 setup and offers similar box body capacity. The 470MEV Gen-2 comes with a 6x4 design, 20 CBM rock body, and three battery options.

Safety And Battery Support

All electric truck models use lithium-ion batteries and come with a battery warranty of five years or 5,000 cycles. Safety systems like battery firewall and automatic fire detection are also included to reduce risk during operations.

Connectivity And Service Support

Propel also launched Pulse.ev, which helps operators track vehicle health, energy usage, and maintenance needs. Another offering, Pro EV Care, comes with different service levels to help fleets manage uptime and control costs.

Propel entered the electric truck market in 2023. Since then, its trucks have been used in coal mines, stone quarries, iron ore sites, and waste management. So far, these electric trucks have crossed more than 5 lakh working hours.

Started in 2009, Propel Industries works in over 50 countries with more than 3,000 installations. Moving into electric truck manufacturing is a big shift for the company toward cleaner heavy-duty transport.
