Youdha, the electric commercial mobility brand from Lohia Auto, has unveiled a special limited-edition version of its flagship electric three-wheeler, called the EPOD-Bharat. It was shown off at the Bharat Vyapar Mahotsav at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, and it's easily one of the more eye-catching electric 3 wheelers to come out of an Indian trade fair this year.

The EPOD-Bharat is based on Youdha's existing L5 electric passenger three-wheeler, but with one big difference: the entire exterior is hand-painted with artwork inspired by Warli painting, a traditional Indian folk art style. The design shows scenes of women, rural life, nature and community celebrations, turning a regular work vehicle into something that also carries a bit of cultural storytelling.

This isn't just a paint exercise either. Youdha built it as a tribute to the women and traditional artisans behind Warli art, and to the drivers who use vehicles like this every day to earn a living. It's a small but thoughtful way of connecting India's craft heritage with its growing shift toward electric mobility.

Specs Behind The Art

Under that colourful body, the EPOD-Bharat carries the same hardware as the standard EPOD. It runs on a 6 kW motor paired with an 11.8 kWh LFP battery, giving a certified range of up to 227 km on a single charge. That's a solid number for a three-wheeler that's meant to be used all day for passenger or cargo runs in a city.

The regular EPOD, on which this special edition is based, starts at around Rs 3.20 lakh and is built with self-employed drivers and small mobility businesses in mind, rather than personal buyers. It's manufactured at Youdha's own facility in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, which has an annual production capacity of 1,00,000 units and runs on automated assembly lines with proper quality checks.

Why This Matters For Passenger Autos And Loading Autos

Electric three wheelers have quietly become one of the fastest-growing categories in Indian commercial mobility, covering both passenger autos and loading autos used for last-mile delivery. A launch like this shows that the segment has matured enough for brands to experiment with design and identity, not just specs and price. A few years back, most electric 3 wheelers looked identical to each other. Now, companies are trying to build a brand people actually recognise and feel something about.

It also reflects a bigger pattern across commercial vehicles in India right now, from smaller electric 3 wheelers all the way up to larger trucks and tippers. Buyers today care about running cost, uptime and service support just as much as the upfront price, and manufacturers across the board, whether they build electric trucks or electric autos, are responding by improving both the product and the way it's presented to the market.

What's Coming Next From Youdha

Alongside the EPOD-Bharat reveal, Youdha also announced plans to expand its lineup with three new electric three-wheelers, one passenger auto and two loading autos, aimed at both passenger and cargo mobility use cases. According to the company, these upcoming vehicles are expected to bring better battery technology, faster charging, longer range, and a stronger focus on driver comfort and fleet economics.

Ayush Lohia, CEO at Youdha, pointed out that buyers today evaluate a vehicle on range, uptime, charging efficiency and service support, not just the sticker price. That shift in buyer behaviour is likely shaping how Youdha designs its next set of passenger autos and loading autos.
