Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) had a solid July this year. The company sold 5,691 commercial vehicles, which is quite an improvement from 5,152 units sold during the same month last year. That’s about a 10.5% rise, which is impressive in a competitive market.

You know what’s really driving these numbers up? It’s Eicher trucks, no surprise there. In India, the brand continued to perform strongly. 5,101 Eicher trucks were sold in the domestic market this July, compared to 4,658 units last year. That’s about a 9.5% growth in India alone.

Let’s break that down a bit:

Small and Light Trucks (under 18.5 tonnes):

→ Sold 3,409 units this July vs 3,156 last year
→ That’s an 8% increase

Heavy Trucks (18.5 tonnes and above):

→ Sold 1,692 units vs 1,502 units last July
→ That’s a 12.6% rise

So whether it’s city deliveries or long-distance haulage, Eicher trucks seem to be in demand.

Exports Are Picking Up Speed

Eicher isn’t just growing in India. Their export numbers also went up in July 2025. They shipped 415 trucks overseas, compared to 316 units in July last year. That’s a 31.3% jump.

Looking closer:

→ Light and Medium Exports: 320 units this year, 239 last year — 33.9% growth
→ Heavy Duty Exports: 95 units this year, up from 77 — about 23.4% growth

You can tell from the export jump that Eicher trucks and pickups are catching on in other countries too. Makes sense in places where people care more about saving fuel and getting good value, these trucks are a smart bet.

What About Volvo Trucks?

On the Volvo trucks side, sales were more or less steady. Volvo sold 175 units in July 2025. That’s just a small drop from 178 units in July 2024. The numbers didn’t move much, but that’s fine — Volvo is not chasing volume, it’s focused on the high-end, heavy-duty space.

It’s worth noting that Volvo isn’t chasing big volumes. Their focus is more on specific clients who need high-end, long-haul transport solutions.

VECV’s Overall Performance Looks Strong

Even though Volvo sales dipped slightly, the overall picture is very positive. The combination of Eicher’s strong domestic growth and rising export demand has pushed VECV into a good place.
