By Jony Shekhawat | Published Date : March 11, 2026

SANY India and NAC complete India’s first all-women excavator operator training programme with 22 women receiving certification and placement support in the construction equipment sector.

A batch of 22 women trainees has completed an excavator operator training programme at NAC in Pulivendula of Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. This became the first all-women batch to finish the specialised course at the institute.

The training ended in March 2026 and all participants received certification under the Infrastructure Equipment Skill Council (IESC) framework. The programme was created to prepare trainees for real work in the construction equipment sector where skilled machine operators are always needed.

The practical training was carried out using a SANY SY120 excavator. The machine was provided by SANY India to help trainees learn real operating conditions. During the programme, the women received both classroom guidance and field practice so they could understand how modern construction equipments are used on project sites.
SANY India also helped design the course syllabus. The company trained the instructors at NAC before the programme started. This ensured the training followed the same operational standards used in the construction industry. Many experts say such industry supported programmes are important because construction equipment like excavators loaders and JCB 130 excavators require skilled operators who understand safety and machine handling.

Certificate Ceremony Held at NAC Campus

The certificate distribution ceremony was held on March 6 2026 at the NAC campus in Andhra Pradesh. Officials from the academy and representatives from SANY India attended the event. Madhusudan Katragadda (Dealer Principal of Madhura Engineering Pvt Ltd) was the chief guest in this ceremony. He presented certificates to all 22 trainees who successfully completed the training programme.

Rakesh Mekala Assistant Director at the NAC campus in Kadapa district was also present along with faculty members staff and company representatives. The programme completion was timed close to International Women’s Day which added special significance to the event.

Placement Support for Graduates

NAC has announced that it will support job placements for all trainees from this batch. The academy plans to connect graduates with companies working in infrastructure and construction projects across India.

With major projects underway in roads housing mining and industrial development the demand for skilled operators of construction equipments continues to grow. Trained operators for machines such as excavators loaders and JCB construction equipments are needed across many states.

A Step Toward More Women in Construction Roles

Excavator operation has traditionally been dominated by male workers in India. However training initiatives like this programme show that more women are entering technical and machine operation roles in the construction industry.

Industry experts believe that skill development programmes can help increase participation of women in sectors like heavy equipment operations machine maintenance and equipment sales. This also supports the broader push for diversity in the infrastructure sector.

Industry and Training Institutions Working Together

SANY India continues to work with skill training institutions to support workforce development in the country. The company focuses on localisation training programmes and partnerships that help build a skilled workforce for the construction equipment sector.

The National Academy of Construction also runs several industry aligned training programmes. These courses focus on modern construction practices equipment operation and technical skills needed on project sites. With placement support the institute helps many trainees find jobs in India’s growing infrastructure sector.
