Automotive expert Dr K. C. Vora joins the board of Atul Auto Limited as an Independent Director for a three-year term, bringing over four decades of experience in the automotive industry, research, and technical education.
Atul Auto Limited has appointed Dr. K. C. Vora as an Additional Director as Non-Executive Independent Director on March 14, 2026. The appointment became effective on March 15, 2026.
As per the information shared with stock exchanges, Dr. Vora will serve a three-year term. His appointment will also be placed before shareholders for approval, as required under company regulations.

Dr. Vora currently serves as Program Director – Automotive Centre of Excellence at NAMTECH. The centre is located at the research park of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar.
He has spent more than forty years working in the automotive sector. His career includes both industry roles and academic work. Because of this mix of experience, he has been closely connected with technology development as well as training programs in the sector.

During his long career, Dr. Vora has worked with several well-known organisations. These include Walchandnagar Industries, Emitec and Mahindra & Mahindra. He also spent many years at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). At the organisation, he served as Senior Deputy Director and later headed the ARAI Academy. He retired from ARAI in 2021 after contributing to research and training activities in the automotive field.
Role in Electric Vehicle Skill Development
After retirement, Dr. Vora has remained active in the industry. He works with the Automotive Skills Development Council as a consultant. In addition, he chairs the council’s Expert Group for Electric Vehicles.
Strong Academic and Research Background
Dr. Vora has also contributed to automotive research over the years. He has written more than 120 technical papers and authored four books related to engineering and vehicle technology. He also holds four patents.
He has been associated with BAJA SAEINDIA for more than two decades. The event allows engineering students to design and build vehicles while gaining practical knowledge of automotive engineering.
His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya. He later completed a Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute and earned his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
