Delhi bans non-BS-VI commercial vehicles from Nov 1, 2025, to reduce winter pollution; BS-VI and eco-friendly vehicles allowed.
Delhi is gonna ban non-BS-VI commercial goods vehicles registered outside the city from November 1, 2025. The main reason is to control rising pollution in the capital, especially in winters when air gets really bad. CAQM has decided this to cut emissions from old and polluting commercial vehicles.

According to the Delhi Transport Department, all commercial goods vehicles which are not BS-VI compliant and registered outside Delhi won’t be allowed in the city. But BS-VI diesel trucks, buses and vehicles running on CNG, LNG or electric will still be allowed. Vehicles already registered in Delhi won’t face any restrictions.
Also, BS-IV vehicles from outside Delhi can enter only till October 31, 2026. This grace period is given so transporters can switch to cleaner vehicles before the full phase-out.
Part of a Bigger Plan
This is part of a bigger push to reduce pollution and make transport cleaner. GRAP rules will still kick in whenever pollution rises.
CAQM’s Efforts
CAQM okayed this on October 17, 2025. The govt hopes it will make transporters and businesses slowly move to eco-friendly vehicles. With winter coming, pollution will rise, so this step is really important. Transporters gotta plan ahead and switch to BS-VI or cleaner vehicles, you know, to follow the rules properly.
