Blinq Mobility Secures Early Funding for Swappable Battery EVs

By Jony Shekhawat | Published Date : December 25, 2025

Pre-seed funding to support modular EV design and battery-swapping tech for city mobility.

Blinq Mobility, a young electric vehicle startup based in Gurugram, has raised ₹4.3 crore in a pre-seed funding round. The money will be used to speed up vehicle engineering and product development. The company is working on battery-swapping electric vehicles made mainly for busy city use.

While Blinq is starting with cars, its modular platform can later support vehicles like mini truck models, light truck concepts, and even electric buses for city movement.

The startup was founded by IIT Delhi alumni and is focused on vehicles that run many hours daily in cities. In places where trucks, buses, and electric truck fleets lose time during charging, battery swapping can save hours.

Blinq believes city mobility needs simple, tough vehicles that stay on the road longer with less downtime.

Battery And Vehicle Treated Separately

Nikesh Bisht, Founder and CEO of Blinq Mobility, said the company sees batteries and vehicles as two different things. The battery acts like an energy box, while the vehicle just uses it. When the battery is low, it can be swapped instead of waiting to charge.

This idea can also work well for shared buses, delivery truck fleets, and future electric mini truck use in urban areas.

Where The Money Will Be Used

The funding will help Blinq in:

  • Modular vehicle engineering
  • Battery-swapping system development
  • Vehicle testing and certification
  • Pilot runs in campuses and closed areas

The company also plans pilot projects with fleet operators and ride-hailing platforms. Part of the funds will go into building a stronger engineering and operations team.

Long-Term Vision In EV Space

Blinq Mobility started in 2024 with a simple goal — to fix the downtime problems electric vehicles face in cities. Since charging is still slow at many places, battery swapping can help trucks, buses and shared mobility vehicles stay on the road with less waiting.

This funding may be small, but it is an important first step for Blinq as it looks to build its space in India’s fast-growing electric mobility market.
