Apollo Tyres, a well-known tire maker, marked 25 years of its healthcare work by launching a new digital step — the Swasth Saarthi app. This app is made for truck drivers who stay long hours on the road and need quick medical help.

App Made for On-Road Health Support

The Swasth Saarthi app lets drivers talk to doctors by video call and find nearby Apollo Healthcare Centres. It will help around 10,000 truck drivers in the first phase. Many truckers travel day and night with no easy way to see a doctor, so this app gives them quick help anytime.

The company said this app is part of their effort to make health easy for every electric truck driver, even those who drive small pickups or electric trucks in remote areas.

Study on Trucker Life and Health

Along with the app, Apollo Tyres also shared a report called “Truckers — the Backbone of Our Supply Chain.” The study showed that 74% of truck drivers look for medical help while driving routes and most of them prefer tech-based support. It also found that 74% of drivers already use smartphones — showing that mobile health services can really work for them.

Message from Apollo Tyres Leadership

Rajeev Kumar Sinha, Chief Manufacturing Officer at Apollo Tyres, said the company wants to take healthcare beyond clinics — to mobile units and now into digital. He added that Apollo’s One Family values show how deeply they care for mini truck drivers’ wellness.

Big Impact Over the Years

In the last 25 years, Apollo Tyres Foundation has helped more than 11 million people in the trucking industry. They ran over 1,000 health camps and established 34 health centres in 21 states. These centres offer services like eye checkups, TB control, and treatment for long-term diseases.

From HIV Awareness to Full Health Care

The programme started with the Healthy Highway Project, first made with DFID to spread HIV awareness among truckers. Now it has grown to cover many health issues faced by truck, bus and electric truck drivers who live a mobile life and can’t reach hospitals easily.

Event Attendees

The event also saw Rajesh Dahiya, Vice President of Commercial for Apollo Tyres (India, SAARC, Southeast Asia), and Shri Kultaran Singh Atwal, former President of All India Motor Transport Congress.

With Swasth Saarthi, Apollo Tyres shows it still drives strong for the health of India’s truckers — from highways to the digital road ahead.
