Force Traveller Monobus – India’s first 33/41 seater monocoque bus unveiled by Force Motors

Force Motors on Wednesday showcased Traveller Monobus - India first 33/41 seater monocoque bus, at the ongoing Bus World 2018 in Bengaluru. With monocoque construction, Force Traveller Monobus is claimed to be 800 Kg lighter than other buses in the category and thus offering a best in class Power-to-Weight ratio, superior fuel efficiency & lower NVH level. Mr. Prasan Firodia, Managing Director, Force Motors Ltd, said - “Traveller Monobus is a fully in-house effort of our R&D team and I am confident it will set new benchmarks in performance, comfort, reliability, durability and safety. These same qualities have enabled the Traveller to become the acknowledged leader in the 9 and 26-seater minibus category. The monocoque construction is possible due to extensive use of large pressed panels – which are fully designed, tooled and produced in house. Force Motors has applied for a number of patents on this product and process technology.

This monocoque construction, as against the usual chassis based buses manufactured by other Commercial Vehicle manufacturers, enables the Force Traveller Monobus to be the lightest in the category and a lot of segment first features. Powering the Force Traveller Monobus is a 3245 cc, Mercedes derived common rail engine that produces 115 HP of enormous power and 350 Nm of maximum torque. And not only a stupendous figure, this max flat torque is spread over a range of 1600-2200 rpm, enabling the driver to cruise through different road conditions without much gear changes.
