Sakhi Auto Services: Empowering Women’s Mobility in Bengaluru

By Amit Jangra | Published Date : March 05, 2026

Sakhi Auto Service in Bengaluru offers women-only auto rides, ensuring safety, fixed fares, and job opportunities for female drivers across the city.

Bengaluru has welcomed a new women-only transport service called Sakhi Auto Service. This initiative is started with one clear aim – to make city travel safer for women. Every day, thousands of women step out in Bengaluru for their jobs and classes. Even then, night travel or long routes sometimes make them feel worried.

Sakhi Auto Service wants to reduce this fear. It is a women-only 3 wheelers auto service where both the driver and the passenger are women. This simple idea itself creates a feeling of comfort and trust. The service officially started on 14th February 2026 and was founded by 24-year-old entrepreneur Krishnavi Parekh. It currently runs with 50 trained female drivers under a “by women, for women” model.

City mobility is not equal for everyone. Many women avoid travelling alone at night because of safety concerns, overcharging or uncomfortable behaviour. Sakhi Auto directly addresses these problems. When a woman knows that her ride will be driven by another woman, she feels more relaxed.

The service also gives job opportunities to women who want to work in passenger autos. For some drivers, this is not just a job but a fresh start in life. As Krishnavi Parekh shared, Sakhi is not only about passenger safety but also about driver empowerment. That balance is what makes the initiative special.

Key Features and Booking Details

Sakhi Auto Service offers a fixed and transparent fare system. The ride starts at Rs. 50 for the first 2 kilometres and Rs. 20 per kilometre after that. There is no surge pricing during rain or peak hours, which is a big relief for daily commuters.

Right now, the service is available from early morning till midnight. There is also a plan to make it 24 hours in the future, but that will depend on how many people use it. Booking a ride is not complicated. You can visit the website or simply send a message on WhatsApp. A mobile app is also being prepared and it should make things even easier.

All drivers are professionally trained and guided on safety rules and customer behaviour. During the pilot run, many women shared positive feedback. They said they felt confident, safe and respected during the journey. Some even requested subscription-based bookings for daily office travel.

A Step Towards Bigger Change

In a city known for heavy traffic and growing demand for last-mile connectivity, passenger autos and 3 wheelers play an important role. Sakhi adds a new and meaningful dimension to this system. In future, it may even explore electric 3 wheelers to support sustainable transport.

Sakhi Auto Service is more than just an auto ride. It is about safety, dignity and independence. And maybe, this small step can bring a big change in urban transport for women.
