- Frequently Asked Questions on Commercial Vehicles
Buying a new Mahindra commercial vehicle will now cost a little more. The company has increased prices across its commercial vehicle lineup by up to 2%, and the revised prices came into effect on July 10, 2026. Mahindra said the move has been taken because the cost of manufacturing vehicles has gone up over the past few months.
The revised prices apply to Mahindra's complete commercial vehicle range, including light (
Bolero Pickups), intermediate and heavy-duty truck models. Along with commercial vehicles, the company has also announced a price revision for its SUV portfolio. However, the increase for commercial vehicles has been kept lower than the average hike announced for SUVs.
Rising Costs Behind The Decision
Like many vehicle manufacturers, Mahindra has been dealing with higher raw material prices and increasing operating expenses. The company said it has been absorbing a large share of these costs, but continuing to do so has become difficult. As a result, a small part of the additional cost is now being passed on through the latest price revision.
Mahindra also believes this step will help it continue investing in better products, improved technology and future development in
trucks. The final increase will depend on the model and variant selected by customers.
Buyers May Have To Stretch Their Budget
A 2% price hike may not look very big, but it can still affect the overall cost of buying a commercial vehicle. Customers opting for vehicle loans could see a slight increase in their monthly EMI, which means the total ownership cost may also go up.
For small transport operators and people buying their first
commercial pickups, this extra cost could influence their purchase plans. Some buyers may wait for a better time, while others may review their budget before placing an order.
Sales Performance Before The Price Revision
The announcement comes after a softer month for
Mahindra mini truck segment above 3.5 tonnes. In June 2026, Mahindra and SML together sold 1,138 units, compared to 1,276 units in the same month last year. This worked out to an 11% year-on-year decline.
Even so, Mahindra continues to expand its commercial vehicle business with regular product upgrades and investments aimed at improving customer experience.
