Kinetic 3-Wheeler Gets 15-Min Fast Charge with Exponent Energy Deal

Kinetic Green has joined hands with Exponent Energy to bring 15-minute rapid charging to India’s electric 3-wheeler market. The goal is to help both e-rickshaw drivers and cargo 3-wheeler operators save time and keep their vehicles running longer each day.

The new technology targets the L3 and L5 categories, which include popular Kinetic 3-wheeler models used for last-mile travel and goods delivery. These fast chargers will allow drivers to charge their electric 3-wheelers during short breaks and increase daily working hours by up to 30%, giving a big boost to income.

The partnership will integrate Exponent’s charging platform with several Kinetic 3-wheeler models.

 L3 models:

  • Safar Smart
  • Safar Shakti
  • Super DX

L5 models:

  • Safar Jumbo loader (cargo 3-wheeler)
  • New passenger 3-wheeler variant coming soon

With this setup, all these vehicles can charge from 0 to full in just 15 minutes at Exponent charging stations.

More Uptime, Less Waiting

Both companies said the rapid charging will solve a major pain point for electric 3-wheeler owners — long charging hours. With this step, drivers can charge their 3-wheelers within 15 minutes.

This charging system comes with a 3,000-cycle battery warranty. This helps operators manage a full fleet of e-rickshaws or cargo 3-wheelers in a more organised way.

Charging Network to Expand Across India

Exponent Energy currently runs 160+ charging stations in four cities. Now, the network will expand to more metro cities and tier II and III towns over the next year. All Kinetic electric 3-wheelers will be able to use these stations. The charging dashboard will also be linked with Kinetic Green’s fleet management app so operators can manage everything in one place.

Leaders Share Their Vision

Dr. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder & CEO of Kinetic Green, said this partnership solves many real-life problems for 3-wheeler owners and helps them improve uptime and earnings.

Arun Vinayak, CEO and Co-Founder of Exponent Energy, said their charging platform will now support both L5 cargo 3-wheelers and L3 passenger 3-wheelers, making fast charging available to a large part of India’s EV segment.

About the Companies

Kinetic Green makes electric two-wheelers and 3-wheelers at its Pune facility and recently raised $25 million in Series A funding from Greater Pacific Capital.

Exponent Energy, founded in 2020 in Bengaluru, builds fast-charging technology for commercial EVs using standard lithium-ion cells. The company is now scaling its tech across India’s growing electric 3-wheeler market.
