In a short time, IEPL has delivered more than 100 hybrid and EV Excavators to 27 customers. Many of these were repeat orders, showing strong trust in the company’s machines and after-sales support. Building on this momentum, IEPL has widened its product range to include Excavators in the 50–120-ton category. These are mainly for the mining sector. The company also received 10 international orders for 50-ton machines and 20 domestic orders for 14–35-ton Excavators, highlighting growing demand.
Lower Fuel Expenses and Easy Operation
IEPL’s hybrid and EV Excavators are designed to cut fuel costs while keeping output high. A 20-ton hybrid machine runs at around ₹350 per hour and a 50-ton one costs ₹600–650 per hour. Customers who convert used machines to EV or hybrid formats can recover the investment in about 5,000 operating hours. Operators can switch between diesel and electric with a single button in the cabin, helping teams adjust operations based on site conditions and power availability.
New Facility and Skill Training
IEPL is also finishing a 12-acre facility that will combine fabrication, rebuilding and customization under one roof. This will help deliver tailor-made solutions for diverse construction needs. Along with machinery upgrades, IEPL has added demolition attachments and other tools to meet advanced project demands. To address the shortage of skilled service personnel, IEPL plans to open an Integrated Training Academy by late 2026. This academy will train up to 750 technicians annually, improving maintenance standards across the industry.
Hybrid and EV Excavators: The Future
IEPL believes that hybrid and electric Excavators will shape sustainable construction in India. They reduce servicing needs, cut operating costs and are eco-friendly. Pavithra, Managing Director of IEPL, said, “We remain committed to innovation that meets evolving needs of the construction equipment industry. Our skilled workforce and fully equipped facility help deliver advanced customization, rebuilding and performance-driven solutions.”
