Flytta Launches India’s First 13-Tonne Retrofitted Electric Truck

By Jony Shekhawat | Published Date : October 08, 2025

Telangana-based Flytta introduces a retrofitted electric truck for industrial and hilly roads. Fleet includes heavy trucks, mini trucks, 16-wheeler, and 18-wheeler trucks for cleaner logistics.

Big move from Telangana-based logistics startup Flytta! The company rolled out India’s first retrofitted electric truck with a 13-ton payload. The truck is built mainly for carrying cement bags and other heavy loads on industrial and hilly routes — making transport cleaner, cheaper, and easier for big industries.

The first truck will be working with Dalmia Cement on the Yadwad–Goa corridor, starting a new chapter for green logistics in India.

This truck is made in tie-up with Kalyani Powertrain, the EV division of Kalyani Group. The idea was simple- build a strong truck that can handle heavy weights on rough roads, but without using diesel.

Pankaj Sonalkar, MD of Kalyani Powertrain, said, “This retrofit truck proves India can move to electric trucks without losing power or performance.”

Flytta’s Future Plan

Rahul Kanuganti, CEO of Flytta, said, “We’re building a green logistics network for India. Working with Kalyani Powertrain and Dalmia Cement is just the start.”

Flytta plans to roll out around 200 retrofitted electric trucks soon — including heavy trucks and mini trucks — for industries like cement, steel, coal, metals, and minerals.

Dalmia Cement’s View

Srawan Agarwal from Dalmia Cement said, “Electric trucks help cut emissions a lot. But to grow this faster, we need better EV infrastructure, charging points, and road support from the government.”

This new truck is made for tough terrain and heavy loading. Even 16-wheeler and 18-wheeler trucks can now go electric without losing delivery time or pulling power.

For Heavy-Duty Use

Flytta’s trucks can carry between 13 and 40 tonnes, perfect for medium and heavy-duty transport. They are not small EVs — these are strong trucks built for big industrial jobs. This shows India is now ready to run even heavy transport fully on electricity, without compromise on speed or load capacity.

A New Benchmark for Green Logistics

This launch is more than just one truck- it’s the start of a green shift in India’s industrial movement. By using electric heavy trucks, mini trucks, 16-wheelers, and 18-wheelers, companies can save fuel costs, reduce pollution, and move goods faster and safer.

With Flytta, Kalyani Powertrain, and Dalmia Cement joining hands, this retrofitted electric truck sets a new milestone for India’s heavy-duty EV sector — showing that even big industries can go clean and electric.
