Ahmedabad based startup drivebuddyAI has got a new patent for its smart road checking system. The company works on AI technology for driver safety and fleet monitoring. This new system can check road condition in real time, which is something different from normal navigation apps.

The system uses two main types of data at the same time. One is location and speed, which comes from GNSS sensor. The second is movement data, which is taken from IMU sensor.

When a vehicle passes on a bad road, like a pothole or rough patch, the system notices a sudden jump in movement, especially in vertical direction. This gives a signal that something is wrong on road.

After that, the system checks video footage of that same spot. It uses AI model to confirm if the road is really damaged or not. This step helps to avoid wrong alerts.

Not Like Normal Road Surveys

Normally, road checking is done after some time, not regularly. But this system works continuously. It keeps collecting data from vehicles running on road.

Because of this, it creates a live map of road condition. This means drivers and companies can know which roads are good and which are not, in real time.
