BharatBenz Opens 11,550-Ft Leh Workshop With PPS Trucking

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has opened a new BharatBenz commercial vehicle service centre in Leh, Ladakh, in partnership with PPS Trucking. Located at around 11,550 feet above sea level, the facility is positioned to support commercial vehicles operating across Leh, Kargil, Drass and nearby border areas.

The new workshop is located in Phey Village along the Leh-Srinagar-Uri Highway. It is a 3S facility offering sales, service and spare-parts support for customers operating commercial vehicles in the region.

BharatBenz Leh Workshop Built for Challenging Terrain

The new facility covers around 20,000 sq ft and has three service bays. According to DICV, it can handle more than 1,400 vehicles annually.

The workshop is equipped with diagnostic equipment, workshop tools and genuine BharatBenz spare parts. It will also provide 24x7 roadside assistance for vehicles that face breakdowns while operating on the difficult terrain of Ladakh.

More than 20 trained technicians will work at the facility. Dedicated driver rest areas and customer amenities have also been provided.

BharatBenz Trucks to Get Faster Service Support

The workshop is expected to support BharatBenz trucks used in stone-crushing, road construction and other infrastructure-related applications in the region.

Commercial vehicles operating in Ladakh face steep gradients, extreme weather conditions and difficult roads. The new facility is aimed at bringing authorised service and spare-parts support closer to operators instead of requiring them to travel long distances for repairs.

DICV said the region's infrastructure activity includes road and building construction, along with demand from ready-mix concrete and other applications.

PPS Trucking to Support Regional Operations

PPS Trucking is partnering with DICV to operate the new facility. The company will maintain spare-parts inventory in the region to help reduce service turnaround time for customers.

The workshop will provide technical assistance and genuine parts for trucks, helping operators keep their vehicles running in challenging operating conditions.

Rajiv Chaturvedi, President and Chief Business Officer at DICV, said the facility is intended to address service-access challenges for operators in Ladakh and adjoining border areas.
