FADA Vehicle Retail Report CY 2025: 23.19 Lakh Units Sold

FADA report 2025: Three-wheelers and commercial vehicles sold 23.19 lakh units, showing steady growth, with passenger three-wheelers and LCVs leading the market.


CY 2025 shows India’s vehicle market is doing okay. According to FADA, three-wheelers and commercial vehicles sold 23,19,607 units in total. This is 6.99% higher than 2024.

Three-wheelers sold 13,09,953 this year. It is little higher than last year, around 7% increase. Passenger three-wheelers also grew, 6,15,216 units sold, a good jump of 10.8%. People still like affordable city transport.

Goods three-wheelers sold 1,32,919 units, up 6.32%. This shows small businesses need these for deliveries and short logistics.

Personal three-wheelers grew a lot, 54.87%, with 1,479 units sold. It is small segment but people are trying new personal mobility.

E-rickshaws show mixed results. Passenger e-rickshaws fell a little, 1%, selling 4,76,936 units. But goods e-rickshaws are booming, up 41.52%, with 83,403 units sold. Electric goods vehicles are becoming very popular for last-mile delivery.

Commercial Vehicles Grow Steady

The CV segment sold 10,09,654 units, up 6.71%.

  • LCVs (light commercial vehicles) are most popular, 6,11,306 units sold, up 8.73%. Many of these are pickups and mini trucks for city deliveries.
  • MCVs grew 19.65%, selling 82,423 units. These are mid-size trucks for small to medium cargo.
  • HCVs are almost same as last year, 0.40% growth, 3,15,170 units sold. Market is mature here.
  • Other vehicles, like construction equipment and special trucks, went down 35.91%, only 755 units sold.

Electric Vehicles Are Rising

Electric transport is getting popular. Electric trucks, electric mini trucks and goods e-rickshaws are used more in cities. They save fuel and help small business owners run deliveries easily.

Overall Picture of CY 2025

CY 2025 shows balanced growth. Strong sales of passenger three-wheelers, goods e-rickshaws, LCVs, pickups and mini trucks helped market grow. HCVs are stable. Some niche vehicles went down.

Experts say small business, urban deliveries and electric vehicles will keep market growing. India is slowly moving to clean and affordable transport solutions.
