Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT Tyres) has expanded its commercial vehicle radial tyre distribution network in Tamil Nadu with a new 10,000 sq ft facility in Sankagiri, Salem. The facility is operated by authorised distributor Sri Jayanthi Roadways and will serve eight markets including Salem, Sankagiri, Namakkal, Erode, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Karur.
The new hub is aimed at improving the availability of BKT's commercial vehicle radial (CVR) tyre portfolio and providing a local support point for fleet operators, dealers and channel partners. Sankagiri is an important trucking and logistics location connecting Salem, Coimbatore and Kerala.

BKT inaugurated the facility during a Partner Connect programme held on September 23. The event brought together dealers, fleet operators and representatives from the regional transport industry. A flag-off ceremony was also conducted for seven commercial vehicles fitted with BKT tyres.
The company said Tamil Nadu is an important market for its CVR business because of its road infrastructure, freight movement and established commercial transport ecosystem. The new facility is expected to improve product access for trucks, buses, mini trucks and pickups.

The event also saw participation from the Sankagiri Lorry Owners Association (SLOA), which represents more than 3,300 members, along with members of the local transport and fleet community.
Amitkumar Agarwal, National Sales Head for Commercial Vehicle Radial Tyres at BKT, said the new facility is designed to improve product availability and strengthen relationships with fleet operators, transporters and channel partners. He also highlighted the partnership with Sri Jayanthi Roadways, which has more than four decades of industry experience.

BKT said the Sankagiri facility is part of its wider effort to expand its CVR portfolio and strengthen its on-highway tyre business in India. The company is targeting the requirements of the commercial transportation sector through a wider distribution network.
The new hub is positioned along a key freight corridor and is expected to support BKT's presence across southern Tamil Nadu. It will also provide fleet operators and dealers with easier access to the company's commercial vehicle radial tyre products.
