Electric Double-Decker Bus Introduces in New Delhi for Green Heritage Tourism

Switch Mobility has delivered the first fully electric AC double-decker sightseeing bus in New Delhi. This initiative promotes sustainable tourism and eco-friendly urban transport.

SWITCH Mobility, the electric mobility arm of Ashok Leyland and part of the Hinduja Group is driving this CSR initiative. The project blends heritage tourism with zero-emission mobility.

SWITCH EiV 22 electric bus features a 231 kWh NMC battery, a range of up to 250 km, seating for 65 passengers, a lightweight aluminum body, and a wide rear door and steps.

The full-day tour will start at 9 am from Dilli Haat INA, covering Rashtrapati Bhavan, National Museum, National Gallery of Modern Art and India Gate and will conclude at 6 pm.

Mr. Dheeraj Hinduja said the initiative revives the emotional legacy of double-deckers while promoting emission-free travel and sustainable urban living.

Mr. Ganesh Mani emphasized that the project connects people with heritage while supporting environmental responsibility and India’s green future.
