Ashok Leyland Rolls Out AC Trucks with Just 1–1.5% Price Hike

Ashok Leyland says it is fully prepared and its factories are already producing AC-equipped trucks meeting the new regulatory requirements.

The new implementation will increase prices of AC-equipped trucks by around 1% to 1.5%, depending on the segment and application.

AC cabins help reduce driver fatigue. With the cooler cabin, the average distance covered per month has increased from 7–8k km to 15–20k km.

Before the rule, 15-20% of tractors and tippers already had ACs fitted. Other segments are also moving fast – even financial lenders are gearing up for change.

Last week, Tata Motors introduced factory-fitted AC system across its entire truck range, including the SFC, LPT, Ultra, Signa and Prima cabin and cowl models.
