VECV inaugurates new plant in Madhya Pradesh

Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles has recently inaugurated the group’s 8th manufacturing plant in the state of Madhya Pradesh, in Bagroda, Bhopal. The proceedings were marked by the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

The newly-built plant adheres to the latest Industry 4.0 standards and boasts of an annual production capacity of 40,000 trucks. Eicher trucks are known for their superior mileage and state of the art features. Eicher has a complete range of trucks to cater to different needs to transporters and its LMD range is extremely popular in the market. The Pro 2000 series of light duty eicher trucks will be produced at this new facility.

Being dubbed as the most successful venture in the Indian CV Industry, VECV ranks amongst the top investors in M.P. with a mammoth investment of INR 5000 Cr. across its manufacturing facilities. The state’s peaceful industrial atmosphere as well as industrial-friendly policies have played a major role in the same.

In addition to this, the firm’s mere presence is a major pull factor for suppliers and ancillary support, having already attracted 100s’ of them to complement in the day-to-day operations.

Talking about the impact, VECV has been able to generate both direct and indirect employment for around 30,000 workers.

Apart from catering to the domestic demand, the plant would also meet the needs of new export markets, make concerted efforts to make India a self-reliant country under the GOI’s AatmaNirbhar Bharat mission, and extend the Make in India campaign to Make in Madhya Pradesh – Vinod Aggarwal, MD and CEO, VECV.
