Eicher introduces 2 new CNG powered light duty trucks

VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd, a 50:50 joint venture between Eicher Motors and Volvo Group is launching new trucks to regain its market share in Light & Medium Duty (LMD) trucks segment. The company’s market share in LMD segment decreased from 33.5 percent in FY 16 to 32.2 percent in FY 17. VECV launched 2 new CNG powered trucks under Eicher Pro 1000 Series portfolio in line with the government proposed "Clean Fuel Corridor" across the Northern belt. Eicher Pro 1049 in the sub-5 ton segment and Eicher Pro 1059 in 5 ton segment, will now be offered in CNG fuel option to cater to last mile delivery in the green corridors of Delhi/NCR.

Eicher Pro 1049 CNG and Pro 1059 CNG are powered by E483 4 Cylinder 2 Valve CNG engine mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. The Pro 1000 Series CNG Eicher trucks promise best in class fuel efficiency, longer oil drain intervals and ease of service. Eicher Pro 1049 CNG comes with longest in class cargo body length of 10 feet, highest rated payload and a large fuel tank of 170 Litres. While Eicher Pro 1059 comes in cargo body length options of 12 feet and 14 feet. Also Read :  Scoop – 49 Ton Tractor from Eicher Trucks & Buses caught testing As per the company, both the Eicher trucks also come equipped with smart fuel filling valve, an industry first feature that is compatible with all CNG filling stations and reduces the CNG filling time. Having launched in 2016, the company has sold over 3000 units of Eicher Pro 1049 and is now focusing on harnessing its potential to capture the CNG markets of Delhi NCR.
