The world is reeling under an unparalleled disaster - the COVID-19, which continues to rage despite the emergence of multiple vaccines. Major Indian CV manufacturers, namely Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, BharatBenz, Eicher, Force Motors, Mahindra Truck and Bus and various others have joined the fight against the virus. Part 1 of the blog attempts to inform readers of some of the significant developments and initiatives undertaken by these companies.

Ashok Leyland has been quite active in its fight against the pandemic. Their social media account is lightened with the latest updates the CV maker has undertaken and promotional content highlighting the urgency of being vaccinated. The company has operationalized a 24x7 PAN India breakdown support for oxygen tankers of all commercial vehicle brands. Ashok Leyland Trucks and Buses has been delivering portable ventilators to hospitals in need. The company has upgraded Ashok Leyland Dost and Partner as Covid-19 vaccine carriers. They are proving to be reliable and efficient transport solutions in these trying times.

BharatBenz Trucks and Buses has made temporary relaxations in its policies to help its customers navigate through these challenging times. The firm has extended all its Annual Maintenance Contracts and the Extended Warranty Contracts that were supposed to end after 1st May 2021, and those in action since the same date, by an additional three months. Like Ashok Leyland, the customer representatives of BharatBenz are now 24x7 available to respond to customer queries.

Eicher Trucks and Buses paid tribute to India's frontline workers in a short video. They urged the country's citizens to stand together in these challenging times to solidify their fight against the virus. VECV - Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles has stepped up on its efforts in combating the pandemic. The brand has leveraged support towards local communities spread across India by distributing food items, medical resources, and basic amenities essential for survival. Volvo Eicher has further donated to various Government fund relief programs, and is constantly empowering COVID Heroes with all the aid they require. Like BharatBenz, VECV has extended annual maintenance, free service, and warranty contracts by 2 months across its portfolio.
